Why Choose Kronendal?
As a school, we are very proud of our underlying ethos for learners to “Let Your Light Shine”, instilling in them a confident self-assured identity, which allows every learner to grow and lead in their sphere of influence.
The Right Size School
With two classes per grade, your child will get the attention they deserve, as well as the flexibility of changing friend circles, and the benefit of different classroom dynamics and teacher styles as they progress from grade-to-grade.
Teacher Assistants | Math & Reading Excellence
With teacher assistants across the grades, the focus is always on the learner achieving their academic potential and more.
As a school which focuses on maths and reading excellence, our teacher assistants put additional focus into these two areas as well as help with classroom management and smaller group-based work.
The Digital Dimension
Our computer lab, recently upgraded with 27 workstations, and led by our full time IT Teacher, strikes the right balance between age-appropriate technology skills development while in a fun and safe environment.
From becoming pros at the MS Office suite, to understanding how best to leverage the internet and its vast resources to understanding the underlying operating systems and Google Classroom, your child will not be left behind in our ever-changing technology-driven world.
A Wonderland of Books
With a huge library packed with over 8400 quality books for all ages, and a dedicated full time librarian driving a host of exciting reading programmes, you can rest assured your child will develop a love of reading and literacy excellence.
Fun activities such as library scavenger hunts, the Golden Ticket, and The Library Escape Room Challenge are just a few of the exciting initiatives on offer which make reading come alive for learners of all ages.
Arts, Music & Culture
Our Arts, Music and Culture programme has something on offer for every child to thrive.
From Grade 1 your child is exposed to music and has the option to take it further by joining our much-loved marimba band, while Drama activities are woven into our academic planning and lessons.
As a school which celebrates and embraces diversity, we actively seek out cultural experiences for your child, as well as celebrate different days with joy and respect.
Learner Support
Learning Support forms an integral part of our daily teaching and learning, and we aim to support every learner in the best way possible so they can receive the same opportunities as every other child at school.
Our dedicated on-site VICTOR Centre allows for extra nurturing and support of learners who may need that added bit of attention to help develop to their full potential.
Bring & Buy
The learner-led Bring and Buy programme at Kronendal Primary School instills entrepreneurial skills in students from the Foundation Phase to the Senior Phase.
In the Foundation Phase, young learners bring items like toys, books and bakes to sell, helping them understand the basics of goods value, pricing, and supply and demand. This early involvement teaches responsibility and money management, setting the stage for more complex concepts later on.
As learners move to the Senior Phase, the programme incorporates marketing, customer service, and competitive pricing. They learn critical thinking and problem-solving by creating strategies to attract buyers and manage small business challenges.
Sport at Kronendal
Our extensive sports programme fosters teamwork, sportsmanship, and encourages physical fitness and resilience.
Winter sports include Rugby, Hockey, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Cross-Country and Netball.
Summer sports include Cricket, Tennis, Swimming and Athletics.
Whether your child is a budding athlete, or discovering their sporting interests, our inclusive environment ensures that every learner can participate and thrive.

Valley Pre-Primary is an independent school, registered by the Education Department and offers an up-to-date school readiness programme, which also incorporates some ideas of Rudolph Steiner and Maria Montessori.
